The Public and Welfare Sectors’ Unemployment Fund has ca. 180,000 members. It is the largest industry-specific unemployment fund in Finland.
The unemployment fund offers its members a range of modern services and membership benefits, online document management and flexible payment of benefits. It employs close to 70 unemployment security professionals.
The unemployment fund’s office is located in Helsinki in the premises of Finland’s largest trade union, the Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors JHL. The head of the fund is Pasi Koskinen.
The membership fee is 0.38 per cent of a member’s taxable earned income.
The fund serves its members in all matters concerning unemployment and unemployment security.
The fund offers its members the following benefits:
- Earnings-related unemployment allowance for periods of unemployment or temporary lay-off and during services offered by the TE Office
- Job alternation allowance for periods of job alternation leave
- Mobility allowance to cover commuting or moving expenses
