About the Fund

The Public and Welfare Sectors’ Unemployment Fund gives you security throughout your working life, including periods of unemployment. This fund for welfare workers provides its members with a range of modern services and flexible payment of benefits. The fund employs close to 70 unemployment security professionals.

The unemployment fund’s office is located in Helsinki in the premises of Finland’s largest trade union, the Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors JHL. The head of the fund is Harri Isoviita.

The fund offers its members earnings-related unemployment allowance for periods of unemployment or temporary lay-off and during services offered by the TE Office, job alternation allowance for periods of job alternation leave, as well as mobility allowance to cover commuting or moving expenses.

In 2024, the fund’s membership fee is 0.30 per cent of a member’s taxable earned income or benefits paid by the fund.
